A suspicious fire destroys a Columbus home

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – A Columbus home was destroyed by fire early Saturday morning and investigators consider it suspicious.

Firefighters were called to the one hundred block of 14th Street North just before 6 AM.

They arrived to find the house fully engulfed in flames.

Columbus Fire and Rescue Chief Duane Hughes says no one lives at the house.

Firemen were able to quickly put out the blaze.

This was also the scene of a smaller fire back on September 27th.

A person of interest is being sought for questioning.
