LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – There’s a lot of interest to represent Lowndes County on the EMCC board.

Ten people have applied to represent the county on the community college’s board of trustees.

Greg Stewart and Joe Max Higgins have resigned.

Higgins is staying on until supervisors appoint a replacement.

County leaders plan to narrow the list to four applicants next week.

That’s also when supervisors will hear from consultants that have applied to help the county spend American Rescue Act money.
