Unseasonably warm air next few days, rain by Christmas Eve

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Temperatures remain well above average through Christmas Day. Rain still looks likely Sunday into Monday.

FRIDAY: Expect a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the middle 60s – quite pleasant!

FRIDAY NIGHT: Scattered clouds continue with overnight lows in the lower 40s – not near as chilly as previous nights.

WEEKEND: Saturday still looks quite nice weather-wise. Expect a variably cloudy sky and an afternoon high in the upper 60s, approaching 70 degrees for some! This is great weather for local travel and last minute shopping or trips to the grocery store. Christmas Eve still looks to stay dry a good chunk of the day, but rain moves in after sunset and is likely to last the rest of the night.

CHRISTMAS DAY: Rain stays likely to start the day but should gradually thin out toward lunch and afternoon. Temperatures will stay in the 60s after starting in the upper 50s.

MID-WEEK: Intervals of cloud cover will stick around thanks to a series of upper-level waves swinging through the region. We expect dry weather Tue-Thu.
