Warm and Sunny…for Now

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Warm and sunny conditions are the name of the game for the next 48 hours, with mild dew points making it feel very nice outside. However, conditions will make a complete 180 as we head into the weekend, with a tropical cyclone likely to make an impact on Saturday.

WEDNESDAY: The high temperature for today is 90°, which is above average for this time of year. Thankfully, it shouldn’t feel too stiflingly hot because the dew points are staying pretty mild today. Skies will be clear and sunny all day long, with a southeasterly wind at 5 mph.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT: It will be cool and comfortable tonight, with a low temperature around 57°. Additionally, skies will remain clear through the night, and winds will be calm.

THURSDAY: Warm and sunny weather continues into tomorrow, with a high temperature around 92°. Winds will start calm and increase to 5 mph out of the east-northeast by the afternoon.

Tracking the Tropics

Tropical Storm Isaias has been officially named as of 4 a.m. CDT, with sustained winds of 40 mph. The National Hurricane Center expects it to strengthen into a hurricane before making landfall. It is likely to have its most significant impacts on our area on Saturday, with showers likely through most of the day. It will also be pretty windy, with sustained winds up to 30 mph out of the east and gusts up to 40 mph possible.
