Warm End to August
COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) — September is almost here, but continuing warm, above-average temperatures are sure to remind you that we’ve still got one day of August left.
MONDAY: A high pressure system settling over the southeast is helping to keep pleasant, warm conditions around, with mostly sunny skies for today. This will help to warm us up even with only marginally humid conditions. The high temperature for today will be around 96°, with the heat index peaking around 102° this afternoon. Winds are out of the south-southeast at 5 mph.
MONDAY NIGHT: Any clouds lingering in the evening hours will dissipate overnight, making for mostly clear conditions. The low temperature will be around 74°, with winds out of the east at about 5 mph, calming down towards sunrise.
TUESDAY: Tomorrow will be a little bit warmer than today, with a high around 98° and a heat index maximum around 104°. Sunny skies will be sticking around, with winds out of the east at 5 mph.
