Warming trend continues, rain likely by Christmas Eve

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – Temperatures will continue to trend above average over the next 5 days or so. Rain becomes likely by Sunday afternoon.

THURSDAY: Similar to yesterday, high clouds and sunshine will be the rule w/highs in the upper 50s.

THURSDAY NIGHT: Expect scattered clouds with overnight lows in the 30s, staying just above freezing with patchy frost.

FRIDAY: Our warmest day this week! Expect a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the lower to middle 60s.

WEEKEND: Saturday looks to stay almost fully dry w/a variably cloudy sky. Temperatures will continue to sit in the middle to possibly upper 60s. Christmas Eve starts dry, but rain looks to move in by afternoon and evening, becoming widespread and locally heavy.

NEXT WEEK: Sunday’s rain will likely carry over at least into the first half of Christmas Day Monday. Mild weather sticks around as well, with morning temps in the 50s and afternoon highs in the 60s. Clouds are likely to linger into mid-week, knocking temperatures down into the lower & middle 50s by Wednesday.
