Video: Oxford One Win Away from Repeat Baseball State Title

PEARL, Miss. (WCBI) — Oxford is ready to make history.

The Chargers crushed the ball in every fashion and held off a late run by Hattiesburg to grab Game 1 from the Tigers, 5-3 on Tuesday night. Oxford has never won back to back State Championships in baseball.

Oxford was led by talented pitcher Jason Barber, who had a no-hitter going into the 5th inning, despite surrendering 3 runs in the second. Barber also helped his own cause at the plate, going 3 for 3 and tallying 4 RBI’s.

OHS will go for the repeat State Title on Thursday at 4:00pm.
