CPD Nets 6 Drug-Related Arrests Since Last Week

COLUMBUS, Miss. (Press Release) — Six men are behind bars tonight on drug-related charges.

On Oct. 8, Mississippi Department of Corrections notified narcotics in reference to found narcotics in Billy Terry’s trailer. A search warrant was obtained and the property was searched. Ingredients used in methamphetamine manufacturing were discovered. Terry remained in Jail for MDOC. He was charged with possession of meth precursors with intent to manufacture.

On Oct. 9, Eddie McGregory was stopped by officers in the roadway on 2400 block of 5th Ave. S. During the traffic stop, marijuana could be seen in plain view. Officers found cocaine in McGregory’s vehicle while conducting a search. McGregory was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of cocaine.

On Oct. 10, Jimmy Roby was arrested by patrol officer for selling marijuana in the officer’s presence. Roby was charged with sale of marijuana.

In a separate case on the same day, Orlando Guyton was arrested by patrol officers for public intoxication. Guyton was found to be in possession of cocaine after being arrested. He was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of cocaine.

On Oct. 11, Undra Williams was checked by patrol in the 1000 block of 11th St. S. during a safety check point. Marijuana and cocaine were found in the vehicle. Williams was charged with possession of marijuana, cocaine and drug paraphernalia, along with driving without insurance. In a separate case on the same day, Billy Kennedy was arrested by patrol on an outstanding warrant for Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office. While being arrested for the warrant, Kennedy was also charged with disorderly conduct. Kennedy was taken to the jail. When searched at the jail, Kennedy was found to have been in possession marijuana and crack cocaine. He was charged with possession and furnishing contraband within a correctional facility.
