BURNSVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Two days after a group failed to raise environmental concern, construction continues on a new silicon plant in Burnsville in Tishomingo County.
Blue Ridge Environmental Defense Fund called a meeting to generate public outcry but only two people showed up and no one from the group appeared. Meanwhile, Mississippi Silicon continues work on a plant that should be operating within 18 months and employ about 210 people. John Correnti, the founder of what is now Severstal Steel in Lowndes County, is one of the minority partners in the company.
