TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Representatives from museums across the state have spent the past two days networking and sharing ideas about tourist attractions throughout Mississippi. This year’s conference for the Mississippi Museums Association began Sunday in Tupelo with tours of historical sites.

The meeting wrapped up today with speakers on topics such as the use of social media, effective ways to promote museums and galleries and other issues.

“It gives each city a chance to promote themselves to the rest of the state, because a lot of times we are not aware of what’s in our own backyard here in Mississippi and we have some amazing treasures of museums and galleries that tell the story of Mississippi that are very unique and you can’t find anywhere else.”

More than 50 people attended the three day conference.
