Man behind bars for auto burglary in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – At around 2:48 am on Friday, June 20, Starkville Police Department officers went to an auto burglary in progress at Crossgates Apartments.

When officers arrived, the suspect ran away, but was apprehended shortly after officers arrived.

Nineteen-year-old Alexzay Tripplett of Noxapater was charged with one count of auto burglary and three counts of attempted auto burglary.

At the time of this incident, Tripplett was under court-ordered electronic monitoring.

He remains in the Oktibbeha County Jail.

The Starkville Police Department continues to work with the Mississippi Department of Corrections about this case.

The investigation is ongoing.
