UPDATE: Coroner identifies man killed in Columbus Crash

COLUMBUS,  Miss. (WCBI) – New details have been released about a car crash that killed a Columbus man.

Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant tells WCBI that 33-year-old Lafarris Shaquille Barker was killed when the Jeep Grand Cherokee he was driving ran off of Bluecutt Road east of Leigh Drive, hit a driveway, and flipped several times.

Barker was ejected from the Jeep.

A BMH ambulance crew discovered the accident site and notified 9-1-1.

Barker died at the scene.

The Columbus Police Department is investigating the crash.
