Saltillo Police Department organizes ‘mock crash’ for student learning at Saltillo High School
LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Students at a Lee County high school witnessed the cost of a bad decision during a unique demonstration.
The Saltillo Police Department organized a ‘mock crash’ in front of Saltillo High School. The real-life demonstration featured role players with fake blood and simulated injuries.
Two vehicles salvaged from wrecks were part of the re-enactment. The demonstration featured agencies including the police department, Highway Patrol, Pafford Ambulance Service, and Pafford Air, the Lee County Coroner, Lee Memorial Funeral Home, Lee County 911, and the Alcohol Beverage Control.
Students witnessed the process and response to a crash involving a fatality, a seriously wounded, walking wounded, and an intoxicated driver.
The demonstration is called Please Return on Monday, ” or PROM for short.
Saltillo High School’s prom takes place on Friday.
