Mothers receive free meal from BBQ Drippings

WEST POINT, Miss., (WCBI) – If you were able to stop by BBQ Drippings Food Truck in West Point on Saturday, you were able to give your mom a treat.

BBQ Drippings owners Robert Latham and Terrence Sykes wanted to do something special for mothers on Mother’s Day weekend. The two held a free steak dinner with all the trimmings on Saturday. Latham and Sykes say people were there at 9:30 a.m. before they even opened at 12.

And the line wrapped around the parking lot. They say it’s just one of the many ways that they give back to the community. They believe in giving back to those who have helped their business to succeed.

And it’s not the first time they’ve done it. Latham says they did a Thanksgiving feeding where they fed 500 people, and they’ve done many other things.

It’s just their way of saying thank you. And those in the area did just that as the parking lot remained packed.

From customers to mothers, they were very busy on Saturday.

“Well, just our way of giving back to the community. Showing the moms that we appreciate them for their hard work and dedication. This is just a way for us to give back. So we came up with a steak giveaway. We knew it would give a good turnout because it’s not every day people giveaway steaks with the cost is now. We just wanted to do something special for the mothers, to show our appreciation,” Robert Latham, co-owner of BBQ Drippings, said.
