Hometown Health Care suffers major damage after partial collapse in Amory

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI) – There were no injuries, but an Amory building suffered major damage after a partial collapse.

The Amory Fire Department was called out to Hometown Health Care on Highway 278 after part of the building collapsed Saturday.

According to the department’s Facebook account, the canopy was ripped from the building, taking a large portion of the brick off of the building’s front.

The front portion shifted during the collapse, causing damage to the sides of the building.

The damage occurred during a thunderstorm that hit the area.

No employees were in the building at the time, and it has since been taped off, and fire officials are asking people to stay away from the building.
