Heat Dome arrives

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – The heat is getting hotter as the week comes to an end and the weekend rolls in with triple digit highs.

THURSDAY NIGHT: A muggy and overall WARM evening. Temperatures will only be dropping into the upper 70s.

FRIDAY: Ending with week with consistent heat across NE MS and western AL. Afternoon high temperatures will be in the upper 90s, with the heat index close to 110! Lots of sun, limited rain potential, and only light clouds in the sky. Low temperatures will stay warm, in the upper 70s.

HEAT ADVISORY continues through Sunday at 8PM.

WEEKEND: The beginning of triple digit high temperatures. Expect to reach 100 degrees or above through the weekend, with lots and lots of sun. It may be best to stay indoors as much as possible this weekend to prevent any heat related illnesses or injuries.
