Brutal Heat in September?

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – A very warm welcome to September will unfortunately linger.

TONIGHT – Wednesday night will feel pretty tolerable with temps reaching the low 70’s. Another night of mostly clear conditions!

TOMORROW – Unfortunately the heat will linger into Thursday. Temps in the afternoon will warm into the triple digits for most areas, and even hotter in the heat index. A Heat Advisory has been extended for the entire viewing area throughout Thursday as well. Rain chances will steadily be reintroduced as very isolated rain.

THIS WEEKEND – A very busy weekend is ahead for sports with high school football Friday, Mississippi State football Saturday and Ole Miss football Sunday. While there are rain chances Fri-Sun, it shouldn’t wash out any evening plans. Temps will feel a little muggy with moisture from the rain and temps reaching the mid 70’s overnight each night. During the day it will also be uncomfortably hot, all three days will be nearing the upper 90’s.
