MUW ranks in top 20 for affordability
Washington Monthly ranks The W as the most affordable school in Mississippi.
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Mississippi University for Women is being recognized nationally for helping families and taxpayers save money.
The magazine Washington Monthly ranked The W as number 14 in the South’s category for the 2026 list of Best Colleges for Your Tuition (and Tax) Dollars.
The W ranked as number 185 nationally on the list and was the highest ranked Mississippi school in both categories.
According to Washington Monthly, the magazine ranks the schools based on their contribution to the public good in four categories: access, affordability, outcomes, and promoting public service.
Other Mississippi schools also placed in the top 50 in the South’s category including Jackson State at number 29 and Mississippi State at number 42.
