NAACP branch hosts “Burger & Polls” in Columbus

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – We are less than two months away from Midterm elections in Mississippi, leaving you about two weeks left to register to vote.

Tuesday, September 15, is National Voter Registration Day, and one Mississippi Organization is helping residents get ready for the big day.

The NAACP Mississippi State Conference partnered with Burger Man to host the event “Burger and Polls.”

Participants will be able to register to vote and learn about the importance of voting.

The event kicks off Tuesday in Columbus at Propst Park at 4 p.m.

The address is 2535 Main Street, Columbus, Mississippi 39701.

Organizers said the first 20 people will be able to taste test four special burgers by the Burger Man.

The event will last until 7 p.m.

General Elections is Tuesday, November 3.

The deadline to register to vote is 30 days before the election and this year, that’s October 5.
