City of Aliceville opens temporary Community Dumpster for residents
ALICEVILLE, Ala. – The city of Aliceville has placed a community dumpster available to residents in the city limits.
The dumpster is located at the Aliceville compound at 315 Alabama Street Southwest.
This gives residents an opportunity to dispose of some things in their yards or around their house that otherwise might require a trip to the landfill. Aliceville City Manager Dineki McCaa shared some information for the dumpster.
“We have placed a community dumpster at the city compound in Aliceville for anybody in the community,” said McCaa. “You must be a resident of Aliceville, live within the city limits to just clean up their yards and stuff. We’re trying to encourage our residents to clean up.”
Items that will be accepted for the dumpster include household cleanup items, furniture, bagged or bundled yard debris, and general bulk items. Items that won’t be accepted include household garbage, hazardous materials such as paint and chemicals, tires, appliances with freon, constriction debris, and any commercial/business waste.
McCaa hopes for residents to take advantage of the community dumpster.
“I just want to encourage the residents of Aliceville to clean up their yards,” said McCaa. “This is at no charge to the residents, so it’s an opportunity for you to help keep Aliceville clean.”
It will be available until September 28th, with the hours of operation being from Monday to Friday 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
