Ole Miss students identified in death investigation

Two University of Mississippi students were found dead Monday.

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – The University of Mississippi students found dead this week have been identified.

In a statement sent to CBS affiliate WREG, school officials identified the two victims as Aidan Hamilton, a freshman from Englewood, Colorado and Robert Strang, a junior from Atlanta, Georgia

The two students were found dead on Monday, September 21 — one was on campus and the other was found at their home in Oxford.

LaFayette County Metro Narcotics are investigating the case along with other local and state partners.

The cause of death is still undetermined as they wait for toxicology reports.

Investigators said packaged Kratom sold from a retail store was found at the scene of both cases.

School officials have also said the victim’s families are asking for privacy as they grieve during this time.
