Eight Days of Hope responds to Hurricane Isaias
PENSACOLA, Fla. – Eight Days of Hope is currently in Pensacola, Florida helping with hurricane relief.
Eight Days of Hope is a ministry organization based in Tupelo, Mississippi that travels across the country in response to various storms and disasters. The organization provides efforts such as mass feedings, debris cleanup, safehouses and rebuilding services all for free. Rapid Response Director Dustin Sullivan is one of the many volunteers currently on mission.
“We travel all across the country helping people immediately after storms,” said Sullivan. “Such as hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. This is our 11th outreach in 2026. We’re here in Pensacola and helping people for free that have tree damage. Maybe they’ve got trees on their houses, maybe in their yards. Maybe they can’t afford it.”
Volunteers will be in Pensacola for the next two weeks, distributing thousands of meals a day, clearing debris, and presenting the hands of different plumbers, electricians, roofers and carpenters to help rebuild houses that were affected.
The volunteer ministry group holds people from states across the country coming to Pensacola in response Hurricane Isaias.
“It’s really great to give back to somebody,” said Sullivan. “Somebody that needs help, somebody that can’t do the project on their own. It’s just so rewarding to be able to give back to someone.”
