Christmas is just 7 weeks away, and Main Street Columbus can help get your shopping started

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)-

Christmas is just seven weeks away…Let that sink in a minute…and Main Street Columbus and its Downtown merchant members are helping you get your shopping started.

Main Street is hosting its Christmas Open House this weekend.

Downtown merchants will be offering in-store specials and keeping special, extended hours.

The 14 member businesses offer a variety of products and services.

It gives people a chance to get an early start on their Christmas shopping and support local business people, who also happen to be their neighbors.

“They give their heart and soul every day to our downtown and to our community. They go to market to make sure they have current items for sale, and, oh my goodness, we have household items, we have antiques, we have books, beauty items, men’s and women’s clothing, jewelry. I can’t even name it all. Fabulous restaurants, so it’s a good week to be in Downtown Columbus.”

Businesses will be open until seven Friday, ten until four Saturday and one until four on Sunday
