Festival of the Fae makes its way in Columbus for 3rd time

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – One festival in Columbus had gained a lot of attention over the past couple of months, and it was only right to bring it back at the end of the year.

The Festival of the Fae: Yule market is celebrating its 3rd event of the year.

This is a Renaissance fair allowing families to dress up and get involved with activities offered at the event, like axe-throwing and watching live blacksmithing.

Attendees were also able to be a part of a toy drive and explore over 85 vendors.

Wesley Stewart says they plan to host the Festival of the Fae annually.

The founder of the event said the past two festivals brought a lot of people in, and he and his committee are striving to connect with the community by bringing a unique style of festivities.

“I’m a family man myself. I have kids, and I love having things to do with my kids that build memories. When I moved out here, I realized there wasn’t anything like this, and it was a way for me to connect with my community and give back. Give a venue for people to get out, make some memories, have a good time, dress up, and play make-believe with your kids.”

“There is something for everyone, there’s live entertainment. Blacksmiths and artisans and food with good, little snacks, where it is just a beautiful way to spend the day.”

“I love to go to comic cons, I love renaissance fairs, and I love any excuse to dress up and be silly. Things like Halloween have been on a slow decline, so to see people still willing to come out and do this, it fills my cup.”

Stewart said they are excited to bring back the festival as a two-day event in spring 2026.
