Heading towards a soggy Christmas

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI)- Overall, temperatures will continue to trend upwards into the middle 60s. Our next chance for rain is planned for Christmas Eve and into Christmas Day.

THURSDAY NIGHT: A partly to mostly cloudy sky will continue through the night. This heavy cloud coverage will keep temperatures tonight above freezing! Overnight low temperatures tonight will be in the middle 30s to the lower 40s.

FRIDAY: High temps are continuing to climb! Forecast is expecting end of the week highs to be in the low to middle 60s. The sky will continue to see plenty of clouds, not allowing for as much of the sun. Again, low temperatures will be warmer. Lows will fall into the low to middle 40s.

WEEKEND: In and out clouds are expected for Saturday, and conditions will remain dry. Temperatures will remain in the middle 60s. Christmas Eve starts dry, but rain looks to move in by afternoon and evening. There is potential for some showers to eventually become widespread and locally heavy.
