Hot and Stormy Conditions to Start the Week

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) — Extremely warm weather and ample moisture will help this summer weather pattern continue.

MONDAY: With heat index values projected to exceed 105°, the National Weather Service has placed all of NE Mississippi and W Alabama under a heat advisory. Make sure to limit your activity outside, and stay hydrated. In addition, isolated storms are likely this afternoon due to the prevailing humid conditions.

MONDAY NIGHT: Not much relief from the heat and humidity, even with mostly clear skies. Overnight low temperature will be around the mid-seventies.

TUESDAY: The heat advisory will continue through tomorrow evening, with continuing dangerous heat indices expected. Skies will be mostly clear, with less of a chance for showers than today. Highs will again be in the high nineties, with heat indices nearing 110°.
