Special education students in Lamar County enjoy a day dedicated to them

SULLIGENT, Ala. (WCBI) – Special education students in Lamar County, Alabama, enjoyed a day dedicated to them.

Students participated in Disney themed challenges and competed for prizes.

Goofy golf, Captain Hook toss, and Jake walk the plank were just a few of the activities for the kids.

Jeff Chaffin says he loves seeing the kids enjoy themselves.

“They love it. I’m a father, especially these girls myself. I have twin girls that are special needs. So it’s a real special day for them. They don’t get a lot of them. In their lives where they have regular times and special events for them and special times when they can feel singled out and have victories,” said Chaffin.

The festival rotates between Sulligent, Vernon, and South Lamar.
