Three more defendants receive sentences for drug offenses in Lee Co.
LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Three more defendants receive lengthy prison sentences for drug offenses in North Mississippi.
60-year-old Theodis Barron was sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to trafficking fentanyl. 25 years of that sentence were suspended, leaving 15 to serve. Since this was a trafficking sentence, he will have to serve all 15 years, with no chance of parole or early release. He must also serve 5 years of post-release supervision.
Robert Simmons was sentenced to 40 years after pleading guilty to trafficking Fentanyl. Judge Michael Mills suspended 28 of those, leaving Simmons 12 years to serve day-for-day. He will also be subject to five years post-release supervision.
Samardre Braxton pleaded guilty to sale of fentanyl and possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute. He was sentenced to 50 years in prison, with 30 suspended, leaving him 20 years to serve.
Braxton will also be required to serve five years of post-release supervision.
