Over A Dozen Busted, More Arrests Pending In Undercover Investigation

LAMAR CO., Ala. (WCBI) – 13 people are arrested after being indicted on a number of charges in Lamar County, Alabama.

Sheriff Hal Allred says most of the charges involve drugs.

Deputies, along with the 24th Judicial Drug Task Force and Vernon police have been working for months in an undercover operation with state law enforcement and confidential informants.

Most of the people arrested are from the Vernon and Sulligent areas.

Charges range from unlawful distribution of a controlled substance to possession of marijuana.

Sulligent, Millport, and Kennedy police departments also assisted in this week’s round up of indicted suspects.

The supects’ names and charges are as follows:

  • Michael Cribbs of Vernon is charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; bond was set at $30,000 dollars
  • Timberly Dobbins of Sulligent is charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; bond set at $30,000 dollars
  • Lorie Clark Hallman of Detroit, AL, charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana 2nd, use/possession of paraphernalia; bond set at $31,000
  • Brent Hawkins of Sulligent, charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; bond set at $30,000 dollars
  • Margaret Hughes of Vernon, charged with 3 counts unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; bond set at $90,000 dollars
  • Jeremy Price of Vernon, charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; bond set at $30,000 dollars
  • William South of Detroit, AL, charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, use/possession of paraphernalia; bond set at $31,000 dollars
  • William David Stewart of Sulligent, charged with 2 counts unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; bond set at $60,000 dollars
  • Edward Lee Loggins of Detroit, AL, charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; bond set at $30,000 dollars
  • Jerry McIntosh of Vernon, charged with unlawful distribution of a controlled substance; bond set at $30,000 dollars
  • Loyd Threadgill of Gatman, MS, charged with use/possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana 2nd; bond not yet set
  • Troy Lee White Jr., charged with failure to appear, driving with a suspended license, driving with no insurance; bond set at $600 dollars cash
  • Brenda Faye Dillard of Detroit, AL, charged with possession of a controlled substance, use/possession of drug paraphernalia, promoting prison contraband 3rd, failure to appear, domestic violence 3rd; bond not yet set for drug charges, $500 dollars for domestic violence case

 

Several more are wanted in connection with this investigation, and more arrests are pending. Anyone with information about illegal drug activity are encouraged to contact their local law enforcement.
