Jason Branning Named to College Savings Miss. Board
(Press Release) — The College Savings Mississippi Board of Directors is very pleased to welcome Jason Branning of Madison as their newest board member. Branning, owner of Branning Wealth Management, LLC in Ridgeland, was appointed by Governor Phil Bryant to represent the Second Congressional District. He immediately takes over the board seat left vacant by Cory Wilson.
“Jason will be an outstanding addition to our board especially as we begin the important work of reopening the MPACT program,” said State Treasurer Lynn Fitch, whose agency oversees College Savings Mississippi and the state’s two 529 plans. “He brings a tremendous amount of relevant knowledge to our Board as we take steps to improve MACS and MPACT.”
Branning is an honors graduate of Mississippi College with a B.A. in English. He also holds a Certificate in Financial Planning from Florida State University. He is an active member of the Financial Planning Association currently serving on the Journal of Financial Planning’s Advisory Board and has been a peer reviewer for the Retirement Management Journal. Additionally, Jason has served on the FPA Mississippi Board of Directors (2009-2010). He was also a board trustee of Christ Covenant School from 2008-2011, where he served as Board Chair.
Jason holds the prestigious CFP certification. He has served as a contributing author for the Financial Planning Association’s (FPA) general public website. He has been published in The Journal of Financial Planning’s Retirement Income Special Report and appears in Retirement Management Analyst textbook. Jason’s quotes and retirement theory have been reference in outlets including MarketWatch, CNBC, Morningstar, NASDAQ,com, Bogleheads, and Advisor Perspectives.

with fellow board members in the administration of MACS and MPACT,” said Branning.

College Savings Mississippi administers two 529 plans to help families save for their loved ones higher education. MACS is the Mississippi Affordable College Savings Plan and MPACT is the Mississippi Prepaid Affordable College Tuition Plan.
