Video: Parks and Rec Plan One Step Closer

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The new Starkville Parks and Recreation project is one step closer to reality.

Project architects from Dalhoff Thomas Design Studio presented to residents and city leaders a draft of the project design and proposals.

The draft was crafted based on resident’s input in public forums that took place last year as well as a survey of 1,000 residents.

Ward 4 Alderman Jason Walker said he was impressed with the presentation as well as the resident input.

“It’s a spot where they immediately hae a voice…”, said Walker, “…I think this plan is a direct relationship to the comments they made in those meetings and I think the product we saw eludes to that…”

Mayor Parker Wiseman said a total of 101 residents came out to give their input for the project, and said it showed residents “value their parks and their quality of life.”

Walker said the final draft for the project should come before the board at the end of summer.
