CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Some North Mississippi residents are raising money to help kids battling life-threatening illnesses.

The Make-A-Wish Golf Tournament was held at Old Waverly, Monday.

Money raised from the event will help grant some special wishes for several children in the area.

At least one of the kids – along with Megan Mullen – participated in the tournament.

“We have 27 teams out here at Old Waverly today,” said Jeffrey Rupp, tournament co-chair. “We’re going to raise a lot of money. We have about 10 children in the area that need wishes granted, and this will go quite a ways toward fulfilling those dreams and wishes. ”

Organizers say they plan to make this tournament an annual event.
