TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Tupelo area Girl Scouts learned how to strut their stuff on the dance floor today.

Two members of the Tupelo Ballet company came to Health Works to help Brownies earn their dancer badge. Two times a year Health Works opens its facility to Girl Scout and Brownie Troops so they can earn various achievement badges. Burleson says once they completed the dance steps properly they received a certificate.

“They had to do a Zumba dance for exercise and warm up. They also learned about the different popular dances throughout the different decades. And then we had some dancers, local dancers from the Tupelo Ballet Company come and teach them a dance,” says Burleson.

The girls also had some fun in the Health Works main activity area. The facility also helps area Boy Scout troops earn their badges.
