STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — When Vic Schaefer arrived in Starkville, he wanted to establish his identity.

Known by some as “The Minister of Defense”, Schaefer envisioned a tough, hard-nosed basketball team that represented Mississippi State when he arrived in 2012.

Today, it is his first recruiting class that laid the foundation for the coach’s vision and the reason why the Bulldogs are in the Sweet 16.

Mississippi State will face UConn on Saturday at 10:30am CT. The game will be broadcasted in its entirety on ESPN.
