TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WCBI/UA Athletics) – The University of Alabama football team continued practice on Tuesday afternoon, putting in two hours of work in full pads on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.

Alabama began game-planning for a Mississippi State team that continues to improve each week. The Bulldogs are currently riding a four game winning streak and own a 7-2 overall record that includes a 3-2 mark in the SEC.

The Crimson Tide holds the all-time advantage, 77-18-3, and has won the last seven matchups between the two SEC West foes. Most recently, Alabama came away with a victory over No. 1 Mississippi State, 25-20, inside Bryant-Denny Stadium a season ago. The win was UA’s seventh victory over the nation’s No. 1 team in program history, and the fourth win over the top team in college football under head coach Nick Saban.

Earlier in the day, the Dodd Trophy named Alabama head coach Nick Saban its Coach of the Week. The award honors the football coach whose program embodies three pillars: scholarship, leadership and integrity, while also enjoying success on the playing field during the previous week.
