Ward, 21, was arrested on January 19th at 1:13am and charged with DUI, no proof of insurance and a proper equipment malfunction due to a tail light being out.

Ward pled guilty to DUI and no proof of insurance in Court on Wednesday but would later provide proof of insurance. His proper equipment malfunction charge was dismissed after the tail light was fixed.

The junior from Ole Miss was sentenced to attend Mississippi Alcohol Substance Abuse Program and Victims Impact classes before his license can be reinstated. He was fined $1,234.50 for the DUI and $216.50 for the proof of insurance.

UPDATE: Ole Miss head football coach Hugh Freeze released a statement regarding Ward: “The matter is being addressed internally.”

Ward is a native of Aberdeen and played for the Bulldog football team during his time at Aberdeen High School. He played in all 13 games this past season for Ole Miss, tallying 24 tackles and one sack.
