Video: Sexual Battery Case May Go to Jury Wednesday

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — Two teenagers claim they had an affair with a 35-year-old married woman, sometimes while her children were in the next room.

The woman says it’s a fabrication.

Christy McGough faces up 40 years in prison if a Lowndes County jury finds her guilty of two counts of sexual battery. The jury heard testimony Tuesday from the two teenagers who are 17 now and were 15 at the time. They claimed they slept with the woman four times in the spring of 2011.

The charges unfolded when McGough checked the two teens out of New Hope High School early on May 5, 2011 only to be discovered at her home when the mother of one of the teens went to school and found out he wasn’t there.

The trial is expected to continue Wednesday.
