Starkville Police Answer Shooting Call

Officers with the Starkville Police Department responded to a 911 Call with shots being fired and a fight in progress at Brookville Gardens in Starkville, MS. on April 23, 2013. One victim sought medical attention for a long slash wound at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point, MS. A second victim also sought medical attention for blunt force trauma to the head at Oktibbeha County Regional Medical Center in Starkville, MS. There were numerous other injuries reported as well.

Investigation into this Incident continues to determine what started the altercation.

Several charges are pending.

Lakorain Tuqaian Stewart, a black male residing at 305 Everglade Ave 8-C in Starkville, MS, was arrested and charged with “Felony Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon” in which the serial numbers had been mutilated. He appeared in Municipal Court today where his bond was set at $ 25,000.
