11-year-old in critical condition after being shot in the face

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)- A young boy is in critical condition after being shot in the face.

Around 1 AM Wednesday, an 11-year-old was airlifted from NMMC in Tupelo to a Le Bonheur in Memphis.

Tupelo Police say the incident happened on the 500 block of Lumpkin.

A 15-year-old boy has been detained through the Lee County Youth Court Jurisdiction.

Potential arrests and other detentions are possible.

The 11-year-old victim is stable.
