Trump meets with Kenyan president— live updates

President Trump is meeting with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta in his first public appearance since the death of Sen. John McCain. 

Less than 48 hours after McCain’s death on Saturday, the White House on Monday morning — unlike other landmark sites in D.C. — had already raised American flags back to full staff. 

On Monday, Mr. Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are welcoming Kenyatta and his wife, Margaret Kenyatta, so the two world leaders can discuss trade and security matters. But reporters are sure to have an array of questions for Mr. Trump unrelated to the visit, in the wake of McCain’s death — in light of how little the president has said about the war hero so far — and after Michael Cohen’s guilty plea and Paul Manafort’s conviction last week.
