Three charged after weekend shooting in Tupelo

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Three people face million-dollar bonds after a weekend shooting in Tupelo.

Melton Garcia, 21, Lawanda Whitaker, 32, and Quantario Middle Brookes, 36, were all charged with felony shooting in to a motor vehicle.

Last Sunday, Tupelo Police were called to Canal Street for a shooting. No one was injured in the shooting.

Police said evidence at the scene showed multiple shots had been fired from different guns.

Tupelo Police Department is continuing to investigate.

The department said additional arrests are possible.
