Inmate dies at South Mississippi Correctional Facility

LEAKESVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – An inmate has died at the South Mississippi Correctional Institution in Leakesville.

MDOC says the inmate was pronounced dead at the Green County Hospital Monday evening.

The inmate’s name will not be released until the family is notified.

The Greene County coroner doesn’t suspect foul play in the death.

An autopsy will take place to determine an exact cause of death.
