Update: Arrest Made In Deadly Winston County Shooting

WINSTON COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Winston County deputies have arrested a murder suspect.

The shooting happened on Tuesday afternoon on Young Crossing Road, just south of Louisville.

Winston County Sheriff Jason Pugh says investigators arrested Jared Hannah, 18, near the shooting scene. Pugh says that Hannah was hiding in the top of a closet when deputies found him.

Coroner Scott Gregory says the victim is Malik Miller, 18, of Winston County.

Gregory says it appears Miller was shot with a handgun.

The shooting remains under investigation.

Miller’s body will be taken to the state crime lab for an autopsy.

Hannah is charged with murder. His bond has not been set.
