Starkville to close road for a month

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – People who drive Long Street in Starkville will need to prepare for extra time in their commute for the next few weeks.

The City of Starkville said that a section of Long Street will be temporarily closed for 30 days, starting Monday, December 22.

The section is just south of Carver Street, near Reed Road and Hospital Road.

The city said that the closure is to replace a drainage pipe in the area.

To get to Long Road, drivers must take North Long Street to Westside Street to Reed Road to Hospital road then to Roy A. Perkins Way and to Carver.
