Stormy Wednesday

COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – After plentiful sunshine today, storms are back in the forecast for a couple of days. Wednesday brings another chance for severe weather, so be sure to stay weather aware.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Overall, calm conditions will prevail into the overnight hours. A few passing clouds are possible, and temperatures will drop into the low-70’s overnight.

WEDNESDAY: Severe thunderstorms are possible on Wednesday. During the morning hours, a couple of showers and storms will push through the area. Then, later in the afternoon and evening hours, more storms will work through NE MS and W AL. Right now, most of our area is under a Level 1 out of 5 risk for severe weather. However, an upgrade to Level 2 is possible. Damaging winds are the main concern, although small hail is also possible. High temperatures will be in the mid-90’s with heat index values near 105 tomorrow afternoon.

THURSDAY: More thunderstorms are on the way for Thursday, although confidence in any severe weather occurring remains low at this time. Temperatures will be slightly cooler, with highs in the low-90’s.
