United Way of the Golden Triangle Region kicks off capital campaign with $50K Your Way

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – The United Way of the Golden Triangle Region kicked off its yearly campaign with a bang – you might say.

Just as things were about to get started at the big event a heavy thunderstorm sent people and tents scattering.

But the rain delay only heightened the anticipation for the big drawing and the evening’s festivities.

Of course the big draw is the big drawing.

Members, staff, and volunteers have been selling tickets for the 5o K Your Way drawing.

One non-profit, Christian Hill M.B. Church in Brooksville, and four individuals walked away ten thousand dollars richer.

There was also food, music, and activities for young and old.

The event serves as the United Way’s Capital Campaign kick-off.
