2015 WCBI END ZONE OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Jack Abraham, Oxford

Oxford HS senior quarterback Jack Abraham is our 2015 End Zone Offensive Player of the Year.

His 2015 season capped off one of the most prolific careers for a quarterback in Mississippi High School Football history. His career totals include: 12,021 passing yards (267 passing yards/game), 834 completions (a 62.4% completion percentage), 130 touchdowns to just 28 interceptions.

And for the third consecutive season, Abraham led the Oxford Chargers to the 5A State Championship game.

There’s little doubt as to who the most successful quarterback in the area was in 2015, and there’s also little doubt as to who the 2015 End Zone Offensive Player of the Year is!

2015 WCBI END ZONE DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
Jeffery Simmons, Noxubee County

**How fitting it is for the first back to back State Champion team at Noxubee County to have the first back to back End Zone Defensive Player of the Year?

Jeffery Simmons was downright dominant in his senior season with the Tigers. His stat-line was once again off the charts and could have been out of this world if the star defensive lineman played in the four games he had to sit out due to injury.

For 2015, Simmons finished 105 total tackles, 20 of those for loss but that just scratches the surface of his season.

In his 12 games played, Jeffery tallied 18.5 sacks, 21 quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and recoveries, three blocked field goals and two blocked punts. The stats don’t lie and they tell the story of our 2015 End Zone Defensive Player of the Year!

**With the Tigers in a tailspin at (2-4) overall after the first six weeks of the season, head coach Tyrone Shorter of the Noxubee County Tigers had his work cut out for him.

After being hailed at the beginning of the season for having a top 5 team and beginning the season beating Starkville, the Tigers had all the momentum and hype. But the 4-game losing streak didn’t define Noxubee County, as the Tigers rattled off 10 wins in a row en-route to the school’s first ever back to back State Championship.

Since arriving at Noxubee, coach Shorter has won a State Championship in half of the seasons he’s coached the Tigers and this season was his best coaching job to date getting Noxubee back on the right track to win the 4A State Title.

2015 WCBI END ZONE TEAM OF THE YEAR
Starkville Yellowjackets

**14 straight wins and only one team came within single digits of beating the Starkville Yellowjackets. That’s how dominant the 2015 Jackets were.

The Starkville Yellowjackets are the 2015 WCBI End Zone Team of the Year.

The Starkville Yellowjackets are the 2015 WCBI End Zone Team of the Year.

From a dominant defense that held a streak of six consecutive opponents to seven points or less on the scoreboard, to an offense that roared following the bye week, head coach Ricky Woods had a team that was one of the best if not the best in the state of Mississippi in 2015.

Only three teams were able to score 20 or more on the Yellowjackets this season, and Starkville’s only loss came in overtime in week one. It’s hard to go against the numbers or the team that Starkville built in 2015 that is our 2015 End Zone Team of the Year!
