Two Suspected Of Shooting A Mississippi Man Arrested In New Mexico

LAS CRUCES, N.M. (AP) – Two men suspected of shooting a Mississippi man in an alleged carjacking have been arrested in New Mexico.

Dona Ana County Sheriff’s officials say 23-year-old Christopher Avery Livingston and 25-year-old Christopher Brown are awaiting extradition to face charges of aggravated assault.

They say Livingston was driving a vehicle late Friday that didn’t have a license plate.

A sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over, but Livingston refused to stop.

That led to a short chase before he abandoned the car in a parking lot and was arrested.

Authorities discovered the car was stolen on March 6 in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

During questioning, Livingston told detectives he was with Brown the night of the shooting and subsequent carjacking.

Brown was arrested at a makeshift shelter for the homeless in Las Cruces.
