Rachel Hollivay, a former New Hope and Heritage Academy basketball star, was taken 13th in the 2016 WNBA Draft by the Atlanta Dream on Thursday evening. She played her last four seasons of basketball at Rutgers University in Piscataway, New Jersey.

Hollivay finished her senior season with the Scarlet Knights averaging 7.8 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game and 3.3 blocks per game.

She is the school’s all-time leader in blocked shots with 322 and is the only Scarlet Knight in women’s basketball history with more than 300 career blocked shots and multiple seasons where she had over 100 swats.

Coming out of high school, the 6’4 Hollivay was a 5-star recruit among the many basketball recruiting services. She chose Rutgers over Tennessee and signed with the Scarlet Knights.
