Mississippi Man Dies On Frog Gigging Trip
HARRISONBURG, La. (AP) – A Natchez, Mississippi, man has died after he fell overboard from his boat on the Tensas (TEN-saw) River in Catahoula Parish and drowned.
The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, in a news release Thursday, says 44-year-old Carroll Dobson was frog hunting with his two sons on Tuesday, stopped his boat, stood up and then fell into the river.
One of his sons jumped in to save him but was unsuccessful. Authorities say the accident happened about 10:30 p.m.
One of Dobson’s sons says his father was drinking at the time of the accident.
